The French Revolution

Q9 Explain the events/incidents which led to the outbreak of French Revolution.
Ans9 (a) Meeting of Estate General.   In the meeting of Estate General called by Louis XVI on 5 May 1789 to increase the taxes, the members of 3rd estate were made to stand. Women, peasants and artisans were not allowed to enter.
(b) Demand for one vote one person    In the meeting of Estate General, the 3rd estate demanded for one vote one person which was rejected by the King.
(c) Winters created worse situation.
(d) The members of 3rd estate believed in removing the feudal privileges of the nobles and clergy. They declared themselves as the National Assembly.
(e) The peasants revolted in the countryside.

Ans10 (a) Napoleon crowned himself as the emperor of France in 1804.
